Vlad Chiriches’ agent has denied the defender is in talks with Serie A outfit Fiorentina.
“I deny that, at the moment, there is any ongoing negotiation with Fiorentina or other clubs for my client Chiriches,” Pietro Chiodi told Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
Previously, the Express and others had reported Florin Manea, reportedly another representative of the Romania captain, as saying: “Did you see how little he played? I believe he will not remain in England.
“I think he will go to Fiorentina.”
Di Marzio admits Chiriches does have admirers in the Serie A but believes the 24-year-old will remain at the Lane this summer.
Fiorentina’s Stevan Savic has been linked with a move to N17 in a swap deal for Chiriches but the former Man City man says he’s only focussed on La Viola.
“AC Milan, Tottenham or Zenit in my future? Many of those rumours are just speculation,” Savic told podjeba.me.
“I have a contract with Fiorentina for another two years and so far nobody has told me anything, although the summer is long. We’ll see what happens.
“The Premier League? I’m well in Italy, but maybe one day I will play in England again.”
Chiriches struggled for form and consistency in his debut season in England following a £7.5m summer move from Steau Bucharest but he was not the only summer signing or defender to under-perform.
The Romania international was unlucky with injuries and his form went rapidly downhill after Tim Sherwood replaced Andre Villas-Boas in December.
But he showed plenty in his 17 league appearances to suggest he has a future at this level and most fans would like to see Chiriches start next season as first choice centre half alongside Jan Vertonghen.
